Where’s Jesus?

“God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”......

I’m reading through the entire bible, and 80 days in I finally got through the first four books! (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers) I am reading the old and new testaments alongside one another, so I have certainly read more than just those books. The first four books can just be so hard to read at times though, so I’m proud that I made it through them! However, I noticed something rather empowering while reading those books. The life of Moses should speak something pretty significant to us.

All those rules, restrictions, wisdom, and guidance that the Israelites received from God... was through Moses! God was speaking so clearly to Moses that he was able to basically be the mouthpiece for God’s words; FOR YEARS. Why is this an exciting revelation? Well most of my knowledge and use of the Bible comes from the New Testament when Jesus walked the earth, so I was viewing a lot of the old testament through that same lens; as if all the rules and wisdom they received was just magically revealed to them somehow. (Haha) When I actually read through every single verse in especially Exodus and Leviticus, I was reminded that JESUS WASN’T THERE. God’s words and truth were being spoken as a result of Moses being faithful and hearing Him. Them being freed from the Egyptians? God’s truth being spoken through Moses being faithful and hearing Him. The Israelites wouldn’t have lasted a day through all that without God consistently speaking into it.

Moses was LITERALLY speaking words that were directly from God Himself. So my question is, where does God’s words and truth need to be spoken as a result of US being faithful and hearing Him? This is not a gift or “ability” that only “super spiritual people in bible times had”. It’s part of who God is, and many of you are missing out. It’s time we stop putting God in the boxes that make Him convenient and comfortable for US; and it’s time we set the real Christ free! Why are we limiting what God can do in our lives and in the lives of others because we are too afraid to venture into the indescribable unknown? Prophetic dreams, hearing God’s voice, visions, and miracles ARE REAL. It’s time we put more of that out into the world... now.

We live in a world right now where suicide (with specifically teens) is at an all time high, school shootings are at an all time high, drug abuse is at an all time high, terrorism is at an all time high, racism is at an all time high, political uprisings and riots are at an all time high, women coming forward about rape is at an all time high, men and women being put against one another when we were created to work TOGETHER... all time high. The world is in “a state of emergency” and we think going to church and just loving everyone is going to change it. The world doesn’t need OUR words and OUR truth. The world needs the voice and truth of Jesus. How can we give that if we aren’t receiving that? We can read our bibles, go to church, and pray even; and still never actually hear Jesus. If you have been “praying” to God for years but have never heard God speak to you in any way, then sadly you ARE just talking to the ceiling in your bedroom. God is so relational, we just need to step outside our comfort zone and be willing to experience the SPIRIT of holiness.

If you’re a Christian, then dust off and open up that box that contains the Holy Spirit (if you haven’t already) and ask Jesus to help you explore, see, and hear Him in ways that you never have before. It’s time to set the Holy Spirit free to break through the walls and beat down the doors that the enemy has put up to divide, kill, destroy, confuse, hold back, silence, and attack us. People all over the world need healing and breakthroughs in their lives that only the words and power from Jesus can change. Not to be political.. but my leader isn’t in the White House, He’s in the throne room of heaven. When you realize that, suddenly politics becomes less about who IS in office, and more about who is missing from the world. The world is in chaos and we are wondering where Jesus is in all of it.

He’s knocking on a door that we are too scared to open.

....and Moses said, “Here I am.”
(Exodus‬ ‭3:1-4‬)
